Baby's Growth & KKH Experience

This was our first ultrasound picture of our Baby at Week 8 <3

Seeing that this tiny thing actually has a really strong heartbeat is just...... AMAZING! It suddenly dawned on me that i have A Living Person in me.. Someone i am responsible for... It all became very real... Not just for me.. But for the both of us... A BABY!



Now I am going to address our EXPERIENCE @ KKH!
Lets just say...It was dreadful... so so dreadful! After researching online on several Gynaecologist at KKH we narrowed our search down to Doctor Cynthia Kew a Senior Consultant.
On our first visit, We were super excited and anxious to hear our little fetus's heartbeat and see baby's growth properly after that medical scare! I mean who wouldn't be excited!?
We arrived right on the dot 9am. We had requested to be a Private patient as well thinking in our minds at that time that we would have some form of  a "SPECIAL TREATMENT" so to speak because we're paying ALOT more! 
But NOOOOOOOOOO...!!!!

Firstly, we arrived at the Clinic stated for registration! Which took FOREVER! 
And then i was asked to head to a separate room for Height,Weight,Blood Pressure and Urine test! Which we also had to 

You guessed it! WAIT!

After all the tests were done... guess what?? We were asked to get our ultrasound done! Sounds exciting right??
So we thought.. but guess what?? Ultrasound department is on a completely different floor different clinic! 
AWESOME!
Well, we went of course... and after registering and that counter.. Guess what the lady at the counter said?

 


Oh no she didn't!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
But she did... so we waited and waited and waited... about 45 MINUTES LATER!
It was our turn! LIKE FINALLY!
We saw baby, we heard baby... 
And below is baby's growth!!

And that's baby with tiny budding feet and hands just chilling on the bottom of the sack! Too cute!
Like a little cockroach.. 

I was super tickled when i saw baby! You could actually see movements which i thought was crazy and insanely funny!  I couldn't stop laughing which made it very difficult for the Sonographer to capture a photo! LOL! 
So we were lucky that she managed this photo of baby!

After that was done! We headed back up to the Clinic and waited to see Doctor!
Waiting time................... 1 HOUR!!!
AWESOME!! 
We had already been there 3 hours in total and havent seen the Doctor yet!
So much for being

SUCH BULL CRAP!

Our turn finally came... Thank the Good Lord! We finally met the Doc... She was okay... Very formal... Very to the point..
Polite and Informative..
But that was it... There wasn't anything special.. I couldn't feel a connection with her.. 
I mean come on!! She is going to deliver MY FIRST BABY! She is going to be with me every step of the way..
The least she could do was be.... Warm... And i dont know... Motherly??
But No.. She's just..

A DOCTOR!

Okay moving on, She mentioned to us that we had to get blood work done for both me and the husband! Because i have a history of Mild Thalassemia and I am anemic! And it may pass on to the baby..
So logically we had to do the test!

Then she also said... that we had to check for down syndrome in baby and she would get someone else to follow up on that and advise us.

FINE!

We left her consult room and her assisting nurse directed us to yet another room to get our blood work done! 
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!????
Another waiting game!!!
We waited for 30 Minutes to get our bloods drawn out tubes after tubes!

Im all Outta blood....

Once that was done... We were asked to head downstairs for counseling on down syndrome!
Another Floor Another Clinic!
This is getting "FUN" !!!!!!!!!
But we went of course... All this walking is making me super hungry! 
Down syndrome talk was done... and we had to head back up for final PAYMENT!

Payment Time!! Waiting Time!! 

Waited for 40 Minutes! 40 FREAKING MINUTES!
ARE WE BEING PUNKED RIGHT NOW??!!! 
ASHTON YOU CAN COME OUT NOW MAN! ARE WE ON PUNK'D??? 

We were going crazy... going crazy..
What was suppose to be a pleasant exciting wonderful experience turned so so so CRAPPY!!

Time to finally make payment.. Like Thank god! 
When we saw the bill..... 

YES! JAW DROPPING!
$500 $500 $500 $500 $500 $500 $500 $500

NEVER MIND $500 DOLLARS! 
But to be treated like that? 
After all the inconvenience? 
Different clinics Different Rooms Different Levels 
CRAZY CRAZY WAITING TIME!!!????
While the rest under subsidy pay way lesser??!!! That was TOO MUCH!!! 
TOO MUCH!!

I had reached BOILING POINT! 

This is unfair! Why would i bother going under Private when we get treated the exact same way?
Why should i pay Private Rates when there ARE no Special Privileges?
It all made no sense!

TOTAL WAITING TIME
9AM TO 1.30PM 

TOTAL PARKING FEE
ALMOST $10
For a crappy car park that never has any parking lots available!
